Starting in October 2020, Polygiene® will treat Marks & Spencer’s kitchen towels. The towel is treated with Polygiene stays fresh antimicrobial technology and is part of M&S globally distributed core programs. The yearly forecasted order value of the kitchen towels is USD 75 000.
In the current situation with Covid-19, consumers and brands alike seek new solutions. Concerns over viruses begin even at the shopping stage, where markets like Italy require the disinfection of garments before they are sold to consumers. YKK has developed a line of zippers with tape treated with Polygiene’s ViralOff®, so these parts are essentially self-cleaning.
Manila-based contemporary womenswear fashion label, YOYA, has partnered with Swedish garment technology firm, Polygiene for the launch of a ViralOff® collection to create protective wear as part of the local brand’s commitment to progressive fashion solutions.
A survey by Polygiene shows that 3 out of 4 people say they wash more now due to concerns of viruses. Washing takes time and is inconvenient, but more importantly it puts a huge strain on the environment. The 20% increase we see, would be roughly the equivalent of over 3.5 million more cars**(the entire US fleet of electric cars is around 1.5 million).
