Sealwise fights infection

Sealwise has partnered Biomaster to develop an ultra-hygienic and environmentally-friendly alternative to MDF.

Sealwise WCB (Waterproof Construction Board) is a revolutionary and sustainable new sheet material that looks and handles like top-of-the range MFC or faced MDF but which is actually made from recycled PVC, making it light, rigid, tough and waterproof.

Originally designed for use in properties in flood-risk areas to withstand water damage, Sealwise WCB is extremely versatile and ideal for hardworking environments.  It can be used to replace stainless steel, laminates, expensive thermoset resins or old-style cabinetry made from MDF, chipboard, plywood, MFC and other traditional materials.

Sealwise WCB is now also available in an antimicrobial version.  Highly resistant to all types of common bacteria, it is ideal for hospitals, surgeries and dental practices, helping create a healthier environment by reducing the chances of cross-infection.

The active antibacterial agent in Sealwise material is Biomaster silver ion technology. Biomaster works 24 hours a day to inhibit the growth of microbes for the lifetime of the product and is proven to be effective against most common forms of bacteria including E. coli, Campylobacter and MRSA.

The multi-purpose material is also suitable for domestic use such as in kitchens and bathrooms. Easy to wipe down, it is resistant to all major cleaning agents, including steam and immersion in water.  It can also be used in commercial kitchens as a replacement for expensive stainless steel.

Sealwise WCB  has a service life in unblemished condition typically of up to 15 years and is available in a number options, including a wide range of colours on request. It is also also available high quality wood effect finishes.

Sealwise managing director Paul Huggins says:  „We worked with Biomaster because they offer the right amount of support with affordable products, with the added assurance that they like Sealwise only work with the best raw materials available“.

The company has offices in Belfast and Somerset and distributors the UK and Europe. For more information visit www.sealwise.co.uk
