Druckfarben seals deal with Biomaster

Druckfarben, world leader in commercial printing inks and press related consumables, has partnered with additive experts Addmaster to launch a range of high quality antibacterial paper coatings, sealants and varnishes.

Based in Poole, Dorset, with a coating manufacturing facility and distribution site in Corby, Druckfarben exports worldwide and is the UK’s No. 1 independent supplier of lithographic offset printing inks, varnishes, coatings, blankets and pressroom chemicals to the commercial printing and packaging sectors.

The company represents leading international print industry brands including Shackell Edwards, Silkoseal, Perfect Dot and TyreF.

Independent research shows that paper is a vehicle for cross-contamination because it can survive on the surface and contaminate hands.

Biomaster technology is easily added to any water, solvent, oil or powder based paint, coating or over-print varnish and is proven to be effective against most common forms of bacteria including E. coli, Campylobacter and MRSA. It works 24 hours a day to inhibit the growth of microbes for the lifetime of the product, thereby preventing bacterial build-up in storage.

Druckfarben Managing Director, Grant Penfield, comments: “Druckfarben already has a track record in respect to the manufacture and supply of antibacterial print coatings and we felt the time was right to partner with Addmaster.

Combining our knowledge of over-print varnishes and water based coatings, with Addmaster’s considerable experience of antibacterial additives means that we have jointly been able to develop effective and commercially acceptable antibacterial coatings for the UK Commercial Print sector.

Addmaster has so far proven to be an ideal partner and  we look forward to rolling out a range of jointly branded products, specifically aimed at helping commercial printers offer a proven antibacterial coating technology to their clients”.

Addmaster Marketing Manager Karl Shaw adds: “We are delighted to be working with a highly respected company in the international print industry. Germ-resistant paper coatings are an important technological breakthrough and ideal for hygiene critical and high traffic environments.”

*Please note that Addmaster was acquired by the Polygiene Group AB in January 2021, so all news articles prior to that date will still be branded as Addmaster.
